Ending the epidemic among adolescents requires amplifying investments where they can make the most difference and fostering innovation by adolescents and youth themselves, as well as governments, international organizations, civil society and the private sector.

In response to the rising epidemic, UNAIDS 90-90-90 Strategy, specifically discusses the importance of taking specific steps to increase HIV testing among young people, expand treatment options for adolescents, adapt health services to adolescents’ needs, mobilize social support, and empower young people. The game changers introduced for Asia and Pacific in the strategy includes scaling up prevention programmes for men who have sex with men and transgender people, including condoms and PrEP, especially for us – the younger generation.

In 2014, Youth LEAD strengthened YKP advocacy on major issues including: legal barriers, the National Strategic Plan, Policies and Guidelines on the HIV Response, the Global Fund funding model, sexual and reproductive health and rights, the Post 2015 development goals, as well as youth friendly testing and treatment at national levels.
