India HIV Estimates 2019 Report

National AIDS Control Organization (NACO), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India undertakes model-based biennial HIV estimations in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) – National Institute of Medical Statistics (NIMS). The objective of this biennial exercise is to provide an update on the current status of the HIV epidemic in the country/State/Union Territory (UT)/ district on key epidemiological parameters of HIV prevalence, new infections and AIDS related mortality. HIV estimations also provide the need for the elimination of mother-tochild transmission of HIV. HIV Estimations 2019 is the report on the latest round in the series of HIV Estimations process.

Behavioural Surveillance Survey-Lite 2020: Top Line Findings

The target sample size for each population group for each of the State was worked out at 400. The sample size was calulated to be able to track changes over time on the key risk behaviours of consistent condom use with all the clients during last one month (for FSW) or consistent condom use with all regular male partners (for MSM and H/TG) during last one month or consistent use of sterile needles and syringes in case of IDUs.

HIV Sentinel Surveillance 2019 Antenatal Clinic Attendees

Findings from 2019 round of HSS corroborates with previous rounds and continues to show a low and declining trend nationally, albeit a geographically diverse epidemic sub-nationally. There were 46 surveillance sites across 11 States and 45 districts, which recorded a prevalence of 1% among pregnant women. Overall, 34 districts recorded a HIV prevalence of 1% or more among pregnant women. This technical report is opportune as the country embarks towards planning for the next phase of NACP and it is expected to support shaping the country’s response for the next five years.

HIV Sentinel Surveillance 2014-15: A Technical Brief

This report presents the findings of the 14th National HSS among ANC clinic attendees and shows prevalence levels and trends of the HIV epidemic from 2003 to 2014-15. Though the 14th round of HSS was carried out among ANC only, this report also includes data on HIV prevalence among High Risk Groups (HRG) and Bridge Populations from earlier rounds of HSS.

HIV Sentinel Surveillance National Report 2012-2013: India

The 13th round of HSS was implemented during 2012-13 at 750 antenatal clinics (ANC) surveillance sites, covering 556 districts across 34 states and union territories (UTs) in the country. The methodology adopted during the HSS was consecutive sampling with unlinked anonymous testing.
