Launch video of AIDS Data Hub new webpage on Elimination of Mother-to-Child Transmission (EMTCT) of HIV, Syphilis and Hepatitis B in Asia and the Pacific. 

The webinar provides a technical brief on the new global guidance on validation of Elimination of Mother-to-Child Transmission of HIV, syphilis & Hepatitis B (usually known as the Orange Book), and introducing the new EMTCT webpage on AIDS Data Hub website. The webinar also have a session that highlights the countries’ experience in moving towards the elimination agenda and in achieving validation of Elimination of Mother-to-Child Transmission. 

Key Affected Women and Girls bear the most burden for the HIV epidemic in the Asia Pacific. The Sustainable Development Goals aim for more inclusive polices and approaches, but much remains in terms of implementation. Women in this video speak on the challenges and what needs to be done. 

Thailand has received validation for having eliminated mother-to-child transmission of HIV and syphilis, becoming the first country in Asia and the Pacific region and also the first with a large HIV epidemic to ensure an AIDS-free generation. Meet Anya Nopalit, a mother living with HIV who has two HIV-negative children.

An innovative community-based programme in Cambodia is bringing rapid HIV tests to communities who are often left behind. It trains entertainment workers and other key populations at higher risk of HIV to conduct HIV tests among their peers. The community led testing and counseling programme was introduced by the National Center for HIV/AIDS, Dermatology and STIs. Implementation is led by the Flagship Consortium Partners (KHANA, Family Health International 360 and Population Services Khmer) with direct implementation by the Cambodian Women for Peace and Development, Men's Health Social Services and Men's Health Cambodia with support from the US Government and the United Nations Population Fund.

Data is critical to informed policies and focused programs on areas most at risk of increasing infections. The HIV/AIDS Data Hub was established to provide accurate, user-friendly access to information for evidence-based HIV programs in the Asia-Pacific region.

The HIV/AIDS Data Hub provides free online access to available data pertaining to the epidemiology, vulnerability, risk behaviors, socio-economic impacts, and responses to HIV. Its mission is to support national authorities and their partners in the provision of effective evidence-based responses to those affected by the AIDS epidemic in the Asia-Pacific region.
