Cambodia 2007 Behavioral Surveillance Survey: HIV/AIDS Related Sexual Behaviors among Sentinel Groups. National Center for HIV/AIDS, Dermatology and STDs Cambodia , FHI and USAID (2007)

Cambodia 2007 Behavioral Surveillance Survey: HIV/AIDS Related Sexual Behaviors among Sentinel Groups. National Center for HIV/AIDS, Dermatology and STDs Cambodia , FHI and USAID (2007) Behavioral Sentinel Surveys have been carried out by the National AIDS Program (NAP, now known as NCHADS) in five provinces (Kampong Cham, Sihanoukville, Battambang, Siem Reap and Phnom Penh) since 1997. The first year served to supply baseline data and in subsequent years, the progression of these variables has been monitored. In the last round in 2003, five new provinces were added to the survey, but the results did not add any further information so they will not be included this year.

Integrated Behavioural and Biological Assessment: Repeated Surveys to Assess Changes in Behaviours and Prevalence of HIV/STIs in Populations at Risk of HIV. Indian Council of Medical Research and FHI (2007)

Integrated Behavioural and Biological Assessment: Repeated Surveys to Assess Changes in Behaviours and Prevalence of HIV/STIs in Populations at Risk of HIV. Indian Council of Medical Research, FHI and India AIDS Initiative (2007) The HIV/AIDS epidemic in India is a concentrated epidemic, indiacting that transmission is highest in individuals with high-risk behaviours and those in their sexual and drug use networks. With the aim of slowing down HIV transmission in India, in the year 2003 the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) initiated the Avahan program, focusing on populations with high-risk behaviours, i.e. male and female sex workers and injecting drug users.

IBBS among Truckers in East-West Highways Round III- 2006. FHI, New ERA and STD/AIDS Counseling and Training Services (2006) This study is the third round of the integrated bio-behavioral survey (IBBS) conducted among truckers in Pathlaiya, Bara district. The IBBS was carried out during the months of January and March 2006. The survey measured HIV and syphilis prevalence among truckers and variables which are associated with risk of HIV infection, such as condom use, sexual behaviors, knowledge of HIV/AIDS, reported cases of sexually transmitted infections (STI), STI treatment behaviors, exposure to HIV/AIDS messages and drug habits. This survey was also undertaken to compare the findings for condom use and sexual behavior of truckers driving on the east-west highway with findings from the previous rounds. The previous two rounds of the survey were conducted in 1999 and 2003 in Hetauda.

Transport Workers at Risk to HIV Documenting Our Experience 2000-2004. CARE (2006)

Transport Workers at Risk to HIV Documenting Our Experience 2000-2004. CARE (2006) In 1995, CARE Bangladesh (CARE B) initiated an HIV/AIDS intervention program called Stopping HIV/ AIDS through Knowledge and Training Initiatives (SHAKTI), which was funded by the United Kingdom's Department for International Development (DFID), to improve HIV and AIDS programming in Bangladesh. Although the project originally targeted rickshaw pullers, after several strategy meetings it was decided to begin the HIV/AIDS prevention program with female sex workers. SHAKTI eventually expanded to include some of their (female sex workers) clients as an intervention target group. The sex workers identified rickshaw pullers and truckers, along with dockworkers, as their main clients. This formed the beginning of the Rastta Bondor project.
