Mixed progress in reducing new HIV infections and AIDS-related deaths
- In South and South-East Asia, an estimated 4 million [3.1 million–4.6 million] people were living with HIV in 2011, compared to 3.7 million [3.2 million–5.1 million] in 2001. - In East Asia, an estimated 830 000 [590 000–1.2 million] people were living with HIV in 2011, compared to 390 000 [280 000–530 000] in 2001.
