In February 2013, there were 339 new HIV Absero-positive individuals confirmed by the STD/AIDS Cooperative Central Laboratory (SACCL) and reported to the HIV and AIDS Registry. This was 24% higher compared to the same period last year (n=274 in 2012).

In December 2012, there were 293 new HIV Absero-positive individuals confirmed by the STD/AIDS Cooperative Central Laboratory (SACCL) and reported to the HIV and AIDS Registry (Table 1). This was 9% higher compared to the same period last year (n=268 in 2011)

In 2011, a total of 461 Singapore residents were newly reported to have HIV infection, an increase of 4.5% compared to 441 cases in 2010 (Table 6.1). This brings the cumulative total number of HIV/AIDS infections among residents since the first case was diagnosed in 1985 to 5,306.
